Miami based artist Joaquin Lopez is a native of Cuba. He comes from a family of
artisans and a solid cultural background where his uncle, Cuban artist Felix
Ramos, was a major influence in his color palette.
Lopez is in a class of his own. He creates landscapes of saturated blue sky and
vibrant color Poinciana, attempting to capture the epic scope of the Cuban
natural island scenery that inspired him---- perpetuating in his acrylics and oils
his Cuban heritage.
As a celebrator of beauty, and speciality of femenine sensuality, his nude
drawings have won him the CINTA award.
In addition to painting, Lopez is a sculptor of colorful decorative art that have
captured the attention of local celebrities and politicians...
and a well-known antique restorer whose work can be seeing at the Versace
mansion in Miami Beach, Florida.
I did learn the sculptor ways in my father studio, with my father and artist family
members and also old craftsman working at my father place,
IN THE USA I KEEP WORKING, LEARNING NEW WAYS AT MY OWN,
AND MAKING BETTER WHAT I DID LEARN AT MY FATHER STUDIO IN
HAVANA, CUBA.
